SAG-Producers Pension Plan Benefits

If You are Applying for a Disability Pension 

For a Disability or Occupational Disability Pension you must also provide proof that you meet the Plan's definition of Total Disability. This includes a copy of your notice of entitlement to Social Security Disability benefits which you receive from the U.S. Social Security Administration and the Disability Certification Form completed by your doctor. Certification Forms are available from the Plan Office. You may also be asked to provide copies of additional documentation including your medical records and laboratory test results. 

Disability (non-occupational) 

Age Requirements 

Any age before age 65.

Service and Other 

  • 10 or more pension credits, including one pension credit in the 6 years preceding total disability.
  • Must be totally disabled.

*Excluding pension credits earned under the Alternative Eligibility Program.

Basic Benefit 

Same as monthly regular pension. There is no reduction for age. 

Forms of pension payment

  • Five-Year Certain 
  • Ten-Year Certain
  • Joint and Survivor Pension (50%) 
  • Joint and Survivor Option (75%)  
  • Joint and Survivor Option (100%) 
  • Pop-Up Options 
  • Partial Lump Sum Option 

Reduction Factors: All forms of payment except the Five-Year Certain are reduced. For more information, click here.

Conditions which may result in loss of some or all benefits 

  • Recovery from total disability 
  • Receipt of terminal illness benefit

  • Must be totally disabled due to injury occurring in course of covered employment
