When does the Premium Reimbursement Account (PRA) Plan take effect?

The PRA Plan takes effect April 1, 2027. Qualifying premiums incurred beginning January 1, 2027, are eligible for retroactive reimbursement.

When can I submit reimbursement requests?

Via Benefits will begin accepting requests for reimbursement on April 1, 2027, for eligible 2027 premium expenses incurred on or after January 1, 2027. All requests for reimbursement for the 2027 calendar year must be submitted to Via Benefits by the final run-out deadline of March 31, 2028.

What should I do now?

  • Review Your Medicare Options (Deadline: December 7, 2026): During Medicare Open Enrollment, review your current coverage and make any appropriate coverage changes for 2027.
  • Use Your Regular HRA Plan and Retain Documentation: Continue submitting eligible out-of-pocket medical expenses, such as copays and deductibles, to your regular Senior Performers HRA Plan. Beginning January 1, 2027, retain your premium statements, invoices and proof of payment for eligible premium expenses to submit for retroactive PRA Plan reimbursement when the program officially begins accepting reimbursement requests on April 1, 2027.
  • Await Official Onboarding: Please hold all PRA Plan inquiries at this time. Additional communications regarding qualification status, account access, reimbursement procedures, and implementation timing are expected before the PRA Plan becomes operational. The timing and content of future communications remain subject to final implementation plans and operational readiness.

What happens next?

March 2027: You will receive your official Notice of Qualification (NOQ) from the PRA Plan detailing your PRA allocation.
