What is the difference between the Premium Reimbursement Account (PRA) Plan and my regular Senior Performers Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) Plan?

The PRA Plan and the regular Senior Performers HRA Plan are two entirely separate benefit plans governed by distinct plan documents, separate eligibility rules, reimbursement rules, claims procedures, and funding. Claims must be submitted to the appropriate account.

Because everyone who qualifies for the PRA Plan is already enrolled in the regular Senior Performers HRA Plan, the table below highlights how the two plans compare:

Plan Comparison

- Who is Eligible?

Qualified Participants only. Spouses, Surviving Spouses, and dependents are not eligible

Qualified Participants AND their Medicare-eligible spouses (or Surviving Spouses). Each receives an individual allocation

- 2027 Allocation

$4,000 per year (flat allocation for all who qualify)

Tiered based on credits: $1,500/year ($125/month for 20+ credits) or $312/year ($26/month for less than 20 credits)

- Eligible Expenses

Insurance Premiums only (Medicare Parts B and D, IRMAA, Medigap, Advantage, standalone dental/vision)

Comprehensive out-of-pocket medical care (copays, deductibles, doctor bills, prescriptions) plus insurance premiums

- Unused Funds / Rollover

Unused funds do not roll over to the next year

Unused funds roll over automatically year after year; they do not expire as long as you remain eligible

- Filing Deadline

March 31, 2028 (for 2027 expenses)

Ongoing rollover as long as you remain eligible

Since I have both accounts, can I submit the same premium to both?

No. Federal anti-double-dipping regulations strictly prohibit receiving reimbursement for the same expense twice. An expense reimbursed through the PRA Plan cannot also be reimbursed through the regular Senior Performers HRA Plan, and an expense reimbursed through the regular Senior Performers HRA Plan cannot be reimbursed through the PRA Plan. Participants are responsible for ensuring that the same expense is not submitted for reimbursement under both accounts.

Premium expenses paid or reimbursed by another plan or program, including a pre-tax employer-sponsored plan, are also not eligible for reimbursement through the PRA Plan.

  • Order of Payment: For eligible premiums, the PRA Plan pays first up to your $4,000 allocation. This ensures you spend down your use-it-or-lose-it PRA allocation first, preserving your rollover balance in your regular Senior Performers HRA Plan for copays, deductibles, prescription drugs, or any premium amounts exceeding $4,000.

Additional information regarding claims review procedures will be provided when administrative processes are finalized.

Can I transfer money between my PRA Plan and my regular Senior Performers HRA Plan?

No. The PRA Plan and the regular Senior Performers HRA Plan are separate legal plans. Funds cannot be transferred between them. Claims also cannot be transferred automatically between accounts. If a reimbursement request is submitted to the incorrect account, participants may be required to correct and resubmit the request through the appropriate claims process.
