Who can I cover as a Dependent?

You must be enrolled in the HRA Plan to enroll eligible Dependents in the SAG-AFTRA Health Plan.

Eligible Dependents may include:

  • Your spouse under age 65.
  • Your children under age 26, including biological children, adopted children, foster children, stepchildren, and children for whom you or your spouse are the legal guardian.

You must complete the Working Spouse Rule verification through Benefits Manager when enrolling your spouse and complete the required verification each year.

How do I enroll my Dependents?

You can add and verify Dependents and complete the Working Spouse Rule questionnaire through Benefits Manager.

What is the Working Spouse Rule?

If your spouse has access to health coverage through their employer, they must enroll in that employer's plan as their primary coverage for you to cover them under the SAG-AFTRA Health Plan as secondary coverage.

Important: All enrollment information is subject to audit. You must notify the Plan immediately of any change in marital or Dependent status, as coverage ends on the date eligibility is lost (including divorce, marriage, or remarriage). If you or a Dependent becomes ineligible, the Plan reserves the right to hold or deny pending claims and require you to repay these amounts in full.
