What is the Senior Performers Premium Reimbursement Account (PRA) Plan?

The SAG-AFTRA Health Plan Senior Performers Premium Reimbursement Account (PRA) Plan is a new benefit approved by the Board of Trustees on October 8, 2026. This benefit is intended to provide tax-free reimbursements for eligible Medicare, dental and vision  insurance premiums for the 2027 Benefit Year (January 1, 2027 through December 31, 2027) of up to $4,000 per year per qualifying Senior Performer.

The (PRA) Plan is a separate plan from the regular Senior Performers Health Reimbursement Account (HRA). The PRA Plan has partnered with Via Benefits for administration and reimbursement processing. The two accounts have different eligibility requirements, reimbursement rules, and eligible expense categories. In general, the PRA Plan is intended to reimburse eligible insurance premiums, while the regular Senior Performers HRA Plan reimburses eligible out-of-pocket medical expenses in accordance with its Plan rules.

Via Benefits is expected to support administration of the PRA Plan. Additional information regarding account administration and reimbursement procedures will be provided once implementation details have been finalized.
